Went to a Hydrogen stand. There were no cars there. The resourse however, was.

If anybody is going to make Hydrogen mainstream? It will be the Japanese.

When Tesla actually builds some tangible cre-dah-bility, by way of competing against trad cars in lengthy rallies, or any form of motorsport for that matter. They are unproven on equal terms. They will become something better than jeez. . What could you call it?

I am familliar with how electric engines work. And where the power comes from. A thing powered by coal, running on Liion batteries, and made of plastic. Designed and marketed to be discarded and upgraded regularly. Not rebuilt, reused and recycled. is not only a pretend car. But bad for the environment.

Toyota/Denso, Mitsubishi heavy industries, and fuji heavy industries(Subaru) all not only have extensive records in motorsport. But divisions in electronics, power, infrustructure, and even space travel. Tesla might be the hero for the hipsters. But they have a long way to go before even getting close to what these companies can build if they were so inclined.

Mirai is just the start. They are testing the waters. You don't think the great engineering powerhouse is going to do nothing, do you? wink.gif

Huh? - a Tesla is far more recyclable than any other car out there. Can you elaborate on how it's a pretend car, bad for the environment, and a hipster car? They make family sedans and SUVs, why the fuck should they compete in rallies?

Also, the Supercharger network is again - I don't how the hell to say it - net neutral solar. And the solar panels - if need be are very recyclable, but they'll last far longer than any power station.

For fucks sake, Lithium Ion is sorta misleading because - depending on the chemistry - 98+ % of the battery is essentially some combination of strained Si, Ni, C, before you get to the tiny fraction of Li in the electrolyte that uses an electron per atom to hold potential and transfer current between the anode and cathode.

It's extremely recyclable. The Model S and X are far more recyclable than any other car out there.

The whole if they were so inclined shit is a fucking terrible argument. Go do it then. Volvo says they can build a better self-driving car - Ford says they can build a better electric car. I could build a colony on the sun if I were so inclined. Just sorta tired today.

Beat Tesla. Pretty simple - they came up with the tech and said anyone can use it in good faith.

Also, how does a 4 pole, 3 phase motor work? Sorry, you have to jog my memory, it's been a few hours since I read an engineering book.

Edit: Last thought on this. The average MSRP on a new Tesla is around 100k. If that's a hipster car, glad to be a hipster. Tesla is far more than a car company, but the stigma will be there because they don't ship a cheap car or the rest of their vision yet. Also, no engineer would call it an electric 'engine' - motor is preferred.

I bring the truth to the table. Everyone on SF could invest 10k in TSLA and I doubt the stock budges much. The ignorant ripping on it from people is what pisses me off. Electric 'engines', hydrogen, etc. Did these people even go to high school?

I'm usually there just to get free food and coffee, my wonderful friend's small company of 30 installed most of their metrology stuff and I've had/have 2 of their cars - so, yeah a bit defensive, but objectively, not subjectively.

Shhh. . . . They like to be called "motors". lol8[1].gif

That was just a doorbell run on my lunch break. stirpot.gif
Now i can sit down and counter properly.

Sorry, I forgot your qualifications. Also, what dumbass brings fiberglass into this?

Super great network btw:

Tesla Europe was forced to downgrade their HP figures on the P85D to 539hp in Ludicrous, as the 700hp figure was incorrect and I have heard talk about class action from people I know who owns them.

(They don't show the HP figure anymore)

If you have a degree in electric power you should be able to calculate the output of the aprox. 2600 sq.ft. sollar power roof area on Supercharges (5m x 50m). My friend who works with sollar power estimates an 24h output of 685kwh in Denmark. Which isn't enough to power the full need of a station. Which then brings us to the issue of where does the rest of the power come from and is that green at all?

If you want to look at green energy you need to look at Dust to Dust emissions, if not it's a pointless exercise in PR. Which is where windpower fails as the products used to create windmills aren't green at all and not reusable. The new ocean windmills are 220m heigh with a 160m wingspan. Also living in the windpower capital of the world we still need to heavily government subsidise the entire sector or it will go bankrupt.

I think the more important question to ask is WHY isn't it more build out? Is it because it will be bad business, lobbyism or something 3rd? Sweden f.x. has been running LPG stations for the last 30 years and you can buy most new cars as LPG cars, so it's not because there aren't any other options.

Makes one post, claims people constantly don't get what they are saying.

Back I go to run the 2 business I own and 2 I'm in the process of starting. I hope I'm intelligent enough to do that without a PH.D.

I''ll have you know something @ramuman. I didn't go to high school. I got me a job. (On a production line) And paid my own bills. I have been "Blue collar" since you were still getting dropped off at school in your new kicks. We are the same age. You feel me? I am cotdamn proud of how hard i have worked to get where i am.

Now? I am respected as a Mechanic, a Painter, and a custom fabricator. I have either worked with, for, or hang out with Japan's most elite tuners. Who build cars you see on top gear, youtube, and at car shows.
I personally have wrenched on everything from racecars (asia pacific rally) to Rolls Royces. Worked with the guys who built the "JUN Auto" prelude, and "hyper lemon" R33. Had coffee and regular chats/car talk With Japan's fastest drag car builder(hks dealer). With friends from other major shops.

If you want to call my education and engineering knowledge into question?
You have kicked a rock at Japan's newest underground street car builder.
And i make as much as a medical proffessional. Trying to lock down a buy on the biggest house i have ever set foot in.
-earned blue collar.

So you are buddies with musk? The way you sell it, i'd expect to see a semi stock Tesla at Lemans. If you want real car guys to take notice? Winning at least one race is a start. Mini's had to do it. And they changed the game. Musk wants to change the game? Some wins help.

Nissan is at least backing their tech. Even if Lemans was a fail. They see an electric future. Toyota has a huge market share with their hybrids. And are working on a Hydrogen infrustructure around Tokyo. Long way off. But they are behind Hydrogen. And i am too.

Until then? The most environmentally responsible thing any of us can do is?
Rescue an old car. Restomod it to run on ethanol. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif -Or used cooking oil.

We stand on opposite sides of the table. - i won't ever block you. It takes more than one opinion to have a discussion. But don't take me for a fool.

Because right now i am on an "all expenses paid" vacay at Mitsubishi heavy industries. So ask yourself, how does a whiteboy with no degree, who can't read or write Japanese. find themselves in a room with engineers from across Japan, being taught 1 to 1 by MHI's head engineers? ?

I earned it. And i am a fucking prodigy.
Straight walk. No money, no papers, no tests. This is mine. And silver spooners can't take it from me. Or taint it.
You want me to restomod a JDM hero? Make an appointment.

HooooWeeee Thrift vs Ramu!

You guys are too riled up man. I was never a science guy so no dog in this engineering fight. I can talk fancy about capital markets from work or discuss obscure old wars. Other than that I'm more like Thrift's jpeg on this kinda thing lol.

Suffice to say for me *immediate* Hellcat-level torque is tough to criticize...however Dyson vacuum acoustics and a special green license plate with a little green leaf on it? Certain words come to mind. Lol. However lots of people think Tesla is the tits so who cares what I think. Enjoy away. Nice culo for sure. I'd put that spend towards a new CTS-V mehself but people digging different cars makes driving fun!

*Ramu you should unblock FF. Blocking is like the kid who tattles on the schoolyard bully instead of waiting around the corner from his house with a Louisville Slugger. Also he didn't really deserve it and has posted a big nerdy memo you won't get to read now. Unblock it and see if you can hit it out of the park.

Nah, some people deserve to be blocked.

FF was just offering a contradicting voice. There was no reason to block that. I think we just had a ramurage moment.

Also, the GIF is low class. No.

But I do still see value in hydrogen. Probably combined with solar...
