I think everyone I know who is into cars have owned a car with rolled fenders at one point. Pending on the traffic laws it allows you to fit .5" wider wheels on the car without the being illegal due to poking.

Each generation does stupid shit to its cars, some of it dangerous. My generation (not me doe!) was responsible for the fake bov's, huge picnic table rear spoilers that ruined visibility and lifted the front drive wheels, and clear taillight lenses that rendered your brake lights completely invisible.

We also had Fast and the Furious, but that's a different kind of stupid. The awesome kind.

But it makes me laugh that the next generation has outdone all the previous gens in terms of stupid

I always thought those cars were just like that for  pictures.  I figured they had air suspension mixed with some kind of air/electric camber adjustment.  I had no idea people actually drive like that

I saw a video of a wrx stuck trying to get up a curb once.

Think my generation would be known for phony hood scoops and jacked up rear suspension.

And at 3:16? Can't agree more. .

Definitely an interesting build.  Also a very cool video.  It was also interesting to me to see that most of the cars in the video, although modded are more tastefully done and look more drivable than a lot of the modded Japanese cars I see in my area.  None of the cars in the video had wheels that are practically at a 45 degree angle, and the cars had reasonable ground clearance rather than having front spoilers hovering just millimeters above the ground just waiting to be ripped off if you pass over a coin someone dropped on the road.

My generation people also put dark smoked covers over their headlamps and tail lamps.  A truly brilliant idea..where the car owner just reduced how far ahead of them they can see road hazards at night, and during a day with bright sun light how quickly someone can react to their brake lights.

Also what is Vaping?

My generation had to be the worst. The guys made Civics look as terrible as possible with zero performance updates.

Y'all be mentioning these so-called generational aesthetics and mods but I still see them all today amongst the younger crowd.

You're not an elder statesman like Piob, HRoi, Dino, myself etc. We had it rough man.

I wanted to turn my 240SX into a Silvia with a front end clip (with the SR20DET of course) and proper taillights when I was 17-18. Not a terrible bit of rice fantasy.

The kids at my highschool were all about subwoofers, lowering kits or worse - cut springs, tint, and fart can *brrrrrrrraappp exhausts.
