Cars We Drive! - Page 1665

Oh I see. Well I'm sure it's well known in the Canaries!

Great engine anyway.

I have been to that place years ago and had no idea what it was called.

The infamous adaptive hydropneumatic suspension (you can raise and lower the car w a button) warning light was not on during my test drive but I'm wondering if potential buyers hoisted it and found other problems. Or more likely peeps all want the r230 amg rims many others wear, not these dirty 80s style "monoblocks". Fools :P

And here's the freebie from my hotshot NYC sis for the next while. '07 3.2L.

I'd be a major dingus to turn down a free ride but at the same time this is pure 'meh' vs the e46 m3. I'd never have selected this for mehself. Audi is kinda a girl's brand imo. AWD is good for winter though, can't deny that. In summer though a real sports car is RWD.
*note the major rimrash. Always an indicator of a lady driver lol

Alrighty thought I'd update you boys. First use today. Thriller came on FM the second I started it up this morning so at least the old gods like this thing. Seriously though, a bit more fun than I thought.

Nonetheless, as I already knew from the few brief times I booted this thing years ago, this

3.2L DOHC V6 FSI
Horsepower: 255 @ 6500; Torque: 243 @ 3250
4079 lbs
AWD

is no match for this

3.2L (DOHC) Inline 6
HORSEPOWER 333 hp @ 7900 rpm TORQUE 262 ft-lbs. @ 4900 rpm
3781 lbs
RWD

Not a bad engine by any means but simply nowhere near as fun as the S54. Considering these are both $10K cars at 100ishK klix, I don't know who wouldn't snag an M3 over this thing.

This made me feel a bit better though.

Isn't there an ECU flash or something you could do?

Those are kinda BS/placebo/fakey computer dyno, non?

At the most, dead last behind headers straight-pipe air filter and obv any bolt-on/bore out from what I've read.

Not to my knowledge. It basically remaps the fuel/etc and can find some hidden hp/tq. Reflashes aren't that pricey depending on whether or not you have shops around you that would do it and support it.

Lately been getting an unusually large number of compliments, thumb ups, and waves from people while I'm driving -- mostly from VW GTI / R drivers.

About 6 or 7 in the past three days alone. Even my M5, which arguably was much more flashy in its appearance and noise, didn't get as many.

Must be cause I just washed my wheels and they're shiny / clean af. Or maybe they're initially drawn to my heroic rev-match downshifts.

Or maybe all those guys are attracted to you...

Well, they are driving Golfs. . . .

I'd thumbs up GF's car too if I saw it in person. A car or motorcycle just has to be along the lines of if you get it, you get it - if you don't, you don't. Actually, that applies to most things in life.

I think why he's getting more thumbs up in the E46 than the E39 is because far fewer people can recognize the E39 and how just lustworthy it was when it came out - and still is.

Edit: just saw a McLaren P1 in Volcano Red on the 101. I've seen P1s and F1s floating around and in their showrooms, but they're not exactly a dime a dozen - especilly on the roads. Definite thumbs up and the driver returned the favor even though I was in something that was one tenth the price at best.

Made my day.
