A friend of mine just got a C63 BS.

Other than my nostalgic thing for the r129 v12s, these always caught my imagination when it comes to Benzos.

Except the C63 AMG has an absolutely garbage transmission. It ruins the car completely IMO.

/controversial opinion

Wow could be the most boring video on the Internet

But now I'm also curious why this seemed so difficult

You drove one? I'm still a year out from considering an actual purchase but something like a C63 or an IS-F are high on my mind, both having autos, so a wash. I wonder how 'shiftable' those autos are.

Hroi, definitely can't afford a C63 BS, but the CLK63 BS is more reasonable.

Haha, one of my friends wants to sell his car and get the C63. I wonder if he'll go through with it.

I picked up the 4-1 exhaust manifold for the bike ($200) and ordered the EGR to fit ($30). I wonder if I'll need new gaskets too, but 230 ain't bad for a proven manifold.

Yes. You will need a manifold gasket, and also one for the connection to the srock exhaust.

Yes, the CLK63 BS. Only made in 2008 in limited quantities. That one is the best evar. Imo of course. And now I see it can be had for a hair under $75k 🤔

The transmission is an old school auto. No dual or even single clutch fanciness. I suppose a lot of folks will say it's garbage and I don't blame them. But the car is still the best AMG that I can think of. Fell in love with it as soon as I saw it as a F1 pace car. Jeremy Clarkson owned one too and he wouldn't shut up about how great it was

Don't know as much about the newer C63 BS but we were just talking shit about M4 GTS...those two cars are basically the equivalent

How about instead of C63 AMG BS, a C63 AMG "507 edition"? Eg check this guy's description:

Only 3hp less than the BS, lol. Sounds like the same car to me without the halo $premium.
OK I'm wrong..the BS is still hardly faster but gets vents and flared wheelwells and suspension etc so everyone knows it's the superduperalicecooper version »

507 is still way better value though, unless you have a black series nondepreciation kinda theory.

If you really wanna go fast, faster in fact, and drop the top as a bonus (a major flaw in the C AMG lineup IMO :P ) you could go a bit older for similar $

All the BS cars ltd Ed. Sub 400 units, so people expect the C to go the way of the SLS etc. I believe the C as least this side of the pond is manual.

The guy I know has one of each.

Been contemplating a Model X P100 a lot lately. A buddy has a MX P90 and I've ridden in it and driven it. Nice car, I like the tech and head-snapping torque, though not a big fan of the looks. Range is my main concern given that super chargers aren't prevalent in the Midwest or on the routes I usually take for road trips to the east coast. Tempting though, we'll see. Either a Testla MX (no interest in the MS) or another AMG, I miss the performance of my previous car.

You can PM me if you want more details. I've lived with a Model S of some sort for about 2 years now and range has never been an issue. There are just a few simple things to do.

Yes. I would not be able to live with the transmission. It has a ~2 second lag for downshifts and pert near ruins the car 100% for me. Even upshifts can have lag sometimes. It's a really finnicky tranny.

The engine is glorious doe dass fo sure.
