I hope BMW has plans for something after killing off the Z4. I dug/dig hardtop roadsters.

The Bond Z8? Or the Z3? As movies, I loved Goldeneye more than The World is Not Enough, however, the Z8 come on. Pure badass. Only flaw was it was designed by the guy who later betrayed Elon.

Z8 looks and sounds awesome. It's proven to be a really good investment too, at least so far.

I have heard, however, that it's a pretty disappointing drive. But no personal experience

I doubt few people are tracking Z8s. I meant as a lust-worthy/collector car. Should have clarified.

I'm also confused. Is there no market for a 50k-ish lightweight car with decent power? It's like companies are getting half way there. The Alfa 4C, etc. I dunno what happens with the new Supra, but that seems like a currently untapped market.

The M3/4 and similar cars are great, but also have rear seats and are fairly heavy everyday cars. You have the muscle cars which you'd never want to be seen in on a date once you're older than 25. I guess there is the C7 in its various versions.

Boxster/Cayman is always the answer to mid-priced sport car. Assuming you don't option the shit out of it into the stratosphere. I guess TT and SLK are in the mix too, sorta.

We were looking at Minis the other day and the damn dealer shared the building with Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini and Mclaren. As we were standing there a lady in a Ferrari roared off. My salesman told me that the lady had traded in 2 Ferraris and had bought a McLaren P650 and a mini. As we stared at her in the distance I asked whether she was married but unfortunately she was. I then asked whether she was happy the salesmen told me the McLaren was for her husband and the mini was for herself. And she was keeping the third Ferrari for herself.

It was at that point that I realized that I have been doing life all wrong

Don't get a Mini. The percent of Mini owners that are special flowers and/or douches is exceedingly high.

Minis aren't bad cars, they are essentially 1 series in different packaging. They are grossly overpriced though.

I am more understanding of Leaf drivers than Mini drivers. My opinion is skewed by one of the most gorgeous women I've ever seen charging her Leaf her leaf when I spoke to her and the brief moment we had and my terrible one liner pick up attempt not working.

"Would you like my twig and berries to accompany thine leaf?"

The real version goes as such: she was charging her Leaf at the normal stalls and I couldn't find the superchargers. I had no idea what she looked like and i rolled down my passenger side window and said excuse me, do you know where the superchargers are. She turned around and walked up and said sure, just go ahead and make two lefts.

Then she noticed that I had the Nirvana cover of Bowie's The Man Who Sold the World on pause and gave me more details than I ever knew about the song. The whole time, my verbiage had to be more awkward than a drunk Elon.

The punch line was I said ' I don't know why you're not my girlfriend' and she giggled and I drove off.

True story In Dublin, CA on Sat.

Yup, heard the same thing.  Never driven one.  Good looking car but not something I ever wanted to own, even when they were more reasonably priced.
