Finally got around to snapping a couple photos of my early graduation gift to myself. Picked up a 2002 Mercedes CLK55 AMG with ~70,000 miles for cheap. So far I'm super happy with it. Stiff but comfortable ride, prodigious acceleration at all speeds, enough room for 4 adults, huge trunk, and gets the same MPG (18/27) as my old Infiniti with a 3.0 V6. Plus what I personally think is one of the best looking designs MB ever built.

Not sure if I want to keep the chrome wheels. A little flashy, but I guess they were a factory option.

I hate chrome wheels, would have been a deal breaker for me.

Normally I'm not a fan either. However, these are growing on me somewhat.

Still, I may decide to clean them up and sell them to buy something a little more modest. If nothing else, they were a very expensive option and are still reasonably valuable today.

I had an SUV, a Navigator, with chrome wheels. They didn't bother me too much when I bought it, but over time the wheels among many other issues annoyed me. I only kept it a year, but if I had kept the SUV longer, I would have kept the wheels.

New 6 is exponentially nicer than the horrendously designed outgoing version.

Fingers crossed, I might be upgrading to this in a few weeks.

as a car enthusiast, i sometimes get excited by the width of tires on sports cars... sure, the exhaust/exterior/interior are terribly important, but nothing like seeing the fat tires of a 911 gt2 in front of you.

Nice. I never really thought about these much until I drove one at the "M Shool" in SC, and came away very impressed. They were using them for skidpad/drift training at the time.

What color is that? BMW has the nicest blues, but there are so many I can't keep up with them all

what's the thing in the exhaust? are they valves?

It's just a split, no idea what the use of it is, but it's standard on the Meisterschaft exhaust.
A lot of the people on the M5/M6 boards prefer higher pitched exhausts, but I personally like the lower tone.

lolwut? new 6 looks like ass. I'd actually prefer the old 6 in a choice between the two. with my money though, I'd take neither
