Cars We Drive! - Page 1587

Honestly though, would it be a big deal to have a miata that doesn't have an AC? I have another car so...

There's also this RX7, he said he'll take 4500. I could probably get it for 4 or less. It's been sitting for a bit so maybe he'll play ball?

Also going to look at MR2's.

@Thrift Vader, I'd like to keep the options to convertibles.

Buy the Miata and save money for repairs.

Just don't use jcman's mechanic. You'll save money on labor costs, only to make up for it in sexual labor costs.

Back to back track weekends in the bag now, both lots of fun and one at a brand new track. Early in the Supra video there is a 991 Turbo S that blows by me and barely brakes for an uphill turn, turn 4, and I was pretty impressed at the balls until he flies off track rotflmao.gif. A nice spin at the end of the Supra video too.

Supra at Summit Point, this weekend:
FR-S at Dominion (new track in Fredericksburg), last weekend:
Now to catch up on this thread.

Sorry GF, that was kind of mean but I couldn't resist. Still luv u 😘

Insurance came through on the generous side. Have a 2012 A6 on hold at my dealer that I hope to claim in a few days.

I bought that A6 just so you wouldn't have a replacement car before I get mine.

Thanks.

Probably my last chance to have a NA V8 so may as well hang onto it a little while longer. Was able to find a salvage door in the same color for $150 so just need to figure out if my mechanic will do it for me or if I need to find a body shop to do the work. I am tempted to have a go at it myself, but who am I fooling - would much rather spend time with my kids.

smile.gif Smart choice.

Found a few of the early 2000s MR2 convertibles. Thoughts on those? I need to read up a bit too.

Meh, depends. What do you really plan to do with it?
That Rx7 looked fresh. The Mr2 was not a convertible. You say you wanna keep the recs to convertibles, then post a hard top. This kind of dithering makes it awfully hard to reccomend anything.

Here's a different mr2. 146k miles, looks in good condition. Listed at 4500. Could probably get it for 4?

I thought the mr2 had the removable panels on top. Perhaps I was mistaken.

Here we go!

01 BMW 325 CI: https://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/cto/5670482936.html

166k miles, so might be a bit high? 3600.

96 E36: https://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/cto/5680649884.html

88k on a new engine. 3600.

94 BMW 318C: https://boston.craigslist.org/nos/cto/5693452285.html

190k miles (yikes), 2500

94 240sx: https://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/cto/5698853654.html

2200

87 325i: https://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/cto/5671093575.html

Honestly just posted this because I thought someone on here would reminisce about bmws.

97 Z3: https://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/cto/5710357357.html

A stretch, but doable at 4500 which is basically the most I can put in. Could talk him down too I hope.

90 miata: https://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/cto/5680951693.html

The biggest question which may have been mentioned is do you work on your cars? And do you have money on the side for repairs? BMWs are amazing cars pre E-90, but it looks like you are all over the place? I would never cross shop some of these cars. Personally I would suggest an e30 or miata as there is a wealth of information on both cars and parts are cheap/abundant (miata is the highest selling sport car ever). I would stay away from e46 and e36. I cant really speak on the japanese cars but the 2000s MR2s are garbage from what I have heard.

lols is that E30 325ic really for sale for a dollar?!
