Dude isn't as bad as some of the other people in his situation. Heck, a princess in Abu Dhabi got a custom red i8 recently and the guys on Jalopnik were gushing over it. To me that goes against genuinely lusting after something and working your tail off to get it.
If Ralph Lauren came to me with his F1 LM, I'd feel terrible if I just took it. I wouldn't feel I earned it.
I can certainly understand where you're coming from. I always had the impression that the guy was born wealthy from his parents and he makes investments with the money he has -- the movie producing thing is BS too, I think, as FF says. But I don't care. Where your money comes from is private in my mind and as long as he's not pissing it away and being a complete douchebag about it, he should do as he pleases.
I like his personality a lot. He's very relatable and down to earth and you can tell he actually really is passionate about cars for what they are and less as status symbols. I like how he shares them with other people and explains how things that we normally wouldn't be privy to work -- as in the Porsche VIP Program.
Again, it all comes down to his demeanor. He's not all in your face about his wealth. There are other YouTubers who are just fucknuts that rub me the wrong way, like this kid named MoVlogs or something, where they post stupid shit like "BUYING A FERRARI WITH CASH." It just makes you want to punch them in the face.
This guy Salomondrin, though? He posts videos of him and his bros hotboxing his Model X with a fat blunt and watching the biohazard mode clear out the smoke while talking about cars. It's funny and relatable shit.
BTW, I started subscribing to his youtube channel when he only had like 13k subscribers (this is not meant to be a hipster hurr durr I liked him when he was obscure thing) because the first video I saw of him, I was hooked and knew he would become popular. You could tell he was genuine, despite being very well off. And this was just like a year ago too. His channel has ballooned since then, though it's still pretty small compared to the other big vloggers.
