I googled it and I'm still confused.

Mexican who comes from money and owns a bunch of expensive cars and has a famous instagram/youtube channel. While making it seem like he makes money on producing shitty movies.

I'm still confused, too. Do I remind GF of his film production skills? His entrepreneurship? His dashing Mexican good looks?

I assume its your joined love of penis jokes and Porsche Gayman GTS.

Spent some time looking at and thinking about boring cars this weekend. Mentioned a few weeks ago that someone t-boned my SUV and now that we have a second kid the X1 is really tight for road trips. We can still pull them off but end up filling the one open seat next to the kids with gear. The SUV wasn't used much of late since I no longer commute but it was great for taking to Tahoe and other northern California road trips where we could use the space. It was also extremely low maintenance and dependable.

So with that in mind, took a look at X3s and the new GLC this weekend. X3 was boring but probably would get the job done for us. Dynamically it's fine but not nearly as engaging as the X1 and the difference between the EPS in the X3 and hydraulic steering in my X1 reconfirms why we went with the X1 in the first place. Only surprise was how quick the X3 was given that it's got the same engine as my car and is saddled with more weight.

MB only had one GLC and it was already sold so we couldn't take a test drive. It's looks and feels superior to the X3 in every way and is the clear leader, but they are selling as fast as they can get them and not inclined to negotiate much on price. They said they would give us a better deal if we special order but that takes 4-5 months because they're coming from Germany.

If we get a new SUV we would probably do a 3-year lease (which costs around $25k) because the kids will be bigger and we may very well have a third so likely to want more space. Limiting factor right now is a narrow garage (in addition to living in a city) so don't want to buy something too big.

After thinking about it some more we may just keep the X1 around as our in-town car until our Model 3 comes (2018?) and purchase a used SUV to park on the street. For the same $25k that I would spend leasing a boring X3 or GLC I can get a boring 3 or 4 year old mid-size SUV that would do well for us on road trips and that I won't have to worry about parking on the street.

All this talk about track cars does make me want to move to the suburbs with a garage where we could fit all the toys we want. We live close enough to sears point (ignoring the name changes) and laguna seca such that if we actually have free time when the kids are older we could do some HDPEs and perhaps the occasional track day. On the other hand I would probably just go mountain biking for my thrills so maybe track days are 15 years away.

Dude doesn't come across as a total douche. He's not great or even good, but whatever, if he's living the life, I can't fault him.

@UnFacconable I think keeping the current X1/used SUV makes sense. If space (street parking etc.) permits, you could still get a beater track car.

He's great and pretty down to earth. Has an amazing car collection and is very relatable all things considered.

Also goofy as shit and makes a lot of penis joaks, hence the resemblance to HRoi's schtick. That and the constant buying / swapping of cars.

Good point re getting a beater track car. My wife contends that thrashing her saturn on mountain roads is the most fun she's ever had driving so she may be on board with some sort of track beater. I think we need to get the kids aged up a bit and more independent before we seriously consider new time-intensive hobbies but I know we would enjoy it.

Mind my asking where that one is?

Awesome - please buy it and prevent my wife from murdering me. Although if you're married - don't tell your wife I sent you or SHE might murder me laugh.gif

I've said it before I like and think he is funny and has a nice car collection. I'm just a born pessimist and if I don't understand how people have made their money, I assume there is something up. I'm usually correct as well.

@UnFacconable if looking in that size bracket, have a look at a xc60.

Ditto on this. Looking into his car collection, it's pretty damn baller. So with zero explanation it's a bit odd.

Like I said, if he's living the life, then good for him. He at least doesn't sound like a gaudy douche like a lot of the mysterious money guys with their channels talking about their Veyrons.

Ehhh, guys that self-advertise as much as he does yet stay vague about the source of their income are usually lotto-winners of some type, whether family or literal lottery. Otherwise the story of their success is just as marketable as the results (the cars, the lifestyle, etc) and they'd have little reason to hide it. Cool cars though.

Thanks. I've seen the two that palm beach classics has listed but can't get there right away to see and drive. They're about the only two reasonably nice ones I've seen in black.
