I'm just gonna put this out there: @HRoi isn't a man unless he gets a 918 Weissach.

That's a gorgeous car; however, can I just say that branding on the headrests are gaudy?  I find Infiniti to be the most obnoxious on this front.

BMW uses lighted ///M logos on the seats . Also, in case you didn't know what car you were in, the shifter, the dash, the steering wheel, and door sills also have the ///M logo. I'll give Porsche a pass.

Thankfully, it's not this bad:

Also, Infinitis are obnoxious on every front.

I pulled up beside a Mansory Cyrus yesterday - Google it - an Aston Martin gaudily tarted up for the Middle Eastern Market at great expense, gold threaded carbon fibre, gold plated wheels, air scoops going nowhere.

Love the "Sticker-vents" on that car.  In the morning, I used to see a guy driving an old late 90's BMW 740 with those silly stick on vents on the front fender.   Also, used to see a guy driving an MB CL600 and he added a few extra V12 badges to some of the body panels.

There's a Golf 3 with BMW kidneys driving around here. I believe it has angry look as well.

I like how MB now has an option to pay them to light up your MB logo.  I need to start a business where people will pay me to advertise my brand.

The post about the guy with the CLA reminded me.  I saw some guy in a CLA AMG in the gym parking lot the other day.  He just drove really slowly up and down a couple of rows and left.  What's the deal with the CLA though?  Seems quite inexpensive compared to the rest of the lineup.

Maybe he decided to skip leg day.

I agree that branding tends to be on the gaudy side these days. I actually wonder if they would have stitched the "GT4" in a less loud color if I hadn't specced yellow deviated stitching and seatbelts

Its entry level like the A class and its build on the same platform. They are essentially competing with the A3, 1 series, VW Golf etc.

Never heard of it. Really an awful looking redesign. So awful. Is there any taste in the Middle Eastern car market at all? That is a serious question. All the highly covered media indicates no, but I have only spent limited time in London where a lot of it is taking place and literally no time in the entirety of the Middle East.

The only choices I've seen for the GT4 embroidery on the headrests are platinum gray, red, or yellow.  Maybe the yellow is brighter, but even the platinum gray stitching on the headrest isn't very subdued.   At least on the standard options list, I don't think one could specify the Porsche crest be embossed on the headrest rather than it saying "GT4."  However, it's possible that embossing could have been an option if they offered "Z options" for the GT4 (not sure they did).  When we were ordering our Cayman S, there was a bit more customization available through "Z options" on Boxsters than on Caymans, due to the facility where the cars were made.

Ah yes, I forgot about the Porsche crest in headrest option. $635 for a less obtrusive logo (IIRC), so nope octopus said nope.

About Mansory - they are one of those things where absolutely no one you know doesn't hate them - yet they appear to be wildly profitable. It's one of the mysteries of life, like how "White House Black Market" is in every American mall yet you never see anyone shopping there

Seems like the ME and Russian crowd loves them and their kits aren't cheap either, which = huge mark ups. They are a bit like Wald, DMC etc.

It seems like the big LA custom shops do a lot of their kits. I assume for EE, ME and Russian types.

I have to admit I do like their kit for the Ghost.

This might not be addressed to the right crowd, but...

Camaro, Challenger or Mustang?

There, I said it.
