I believe that was what was supplied with Lamborghini Countachs in the event they rolled over onto their roofs.

I think any non-standard door only works a very specific set of cars and they typically are super or hyper cars or the Mercedes 300SL. The Model X's Falcon wing doors don't require explosive bolts because it's double hinged. Engineering wise, it's badass.

I did cringe when I saw Elon announce it for the first time and the space it occupied - there are still traditional front doors. So whats the point?

@ramuman you said you'd seen the 3 right? Did you like it or was it mostly another riff on the S and X shape?

I've seen it on the internet, not in person. It's a mini S.

Of course, it would be rather expensive, but what a party entrance: quick dab of the noisy pedal, sharp handbrake turn and blow the doors off.  "Hello..."

Yeah, bite me Kanye.

It's funny you say that. When I visited SpaceX a few weeks ago, they were putting together the first human version of the Dragon command they will launch. They also had the space suits they'd use and they looked very Tony Stark-ish. Behind them was a bunch Iron Man costumes and the original piece of cheese they flew into orbit.

I'm here all week to keep this thread alive. I'm a combination of Charlie Rose and Louis CK.

I am disappoint. With your talk about obsessing over the contacter I took it as you had some friends on the inside and was hoping there was something new and interesting in the design.
