I don't think jbrahwick is looking at bmws or Porsches...

I think all the German manufacturers do ED but you can't ED all cars and not all of them offer a discount. I know MB doesn't offer ED on most AMG's and Porsche and Audi don't offer discounts. BMW is the best to do ED from what I hear since every car can be ED'd and BMW offers a discount for all models including M's.

They won't ED cars they also make outside of Germany (unless something changed recently - like in the last 2 days). The discount is ~7% off wholesale, which makes it pretty significant. Find the right client advisor and they will make you an offer you can't refuse, assuming you're in the market for a BMW.

When shopping do the sensible thing, and avoid any product from Audi Group.  safe motoring. :)

-yes, all cars they make.

No such thing as the Audi group.

are you sure?

- When you order suspension components for a Volkswagen? it will often have an Audi branding an part number. as parts are used in compatible models. in Japan, parts/ dealerships are subsidiaries of the Audi group, a smaller branch of the Volkswagen group. and Volkswagens are seen as the Lesser Audi.

underneath? they are all questionable in terms of build quality. i have repaired enough, and seen enough high dollar invoices to have an informed opinion on their cars.

One drive shaft? $1,200!!!!!  and a lengthy wait.

so let me rephrase that, anything linked to volkswagen will not only depreciate like it's a competition, but also cost you ridiculous money in maintenance.

-if you actually pony up and buy. not leasing/returning after warranty/losing all your invested money.

All that said, i do like the Carburetted Porsche's, Beetles, and derivatives.

New (ish) German car?  Gotta be the big engine Benz's,well worth enjoying even when they have lost their value.  and inline 6 BMW's. so easy to work on.

Are you under the impression that Audi's and Volkswagens are not one and the same when on a lift?

But you are welcome to ignore free advice and buy one if you like.

and excuse my earlier mistake i believe here they are known as the Volkswagen Audi Group.

Not a Euro Fanboy.

in fact, from being tasked with repairing them, quite the opposite.

I'm under the impression you are talking out of your ass about the structure of VAG group. Volkswagen is partly a franchise company, which uses franchise takers and agents to handle their sales organisations, which has ZERO to do with the production of the cars.

http://www.volkswagenag.com/content/gb2006/content/en/Financial_Statements/Notes_to_the_Consolidated_Financial_Statements/Significant_Group_Companies.bin.html/downloadfilelist/downloadfile/downloadfile/file/Annual_Report_2006_187-189.pdf

http://www.audi.com/corporate/en/company/company-structure/audi-participations/audi-japan.html

The VAG group owns a number of brands Ducati, Man, Scania, Seat, Skoda, Audi, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche,VW commercial and personal vehicles and 20% of Suzuki, a lot of these share components across brands and platforms. Lamborghini uses Audi navigation and Audi uses Lambo engines etc. etc.

Seat, Skoda, Audi and VW cars share everything except body panels, as they are build on the same platforms MLQ, MQB etc.

VAG stands for Volkswagen AktienGesellschaft

You're the moronic rambling Yoda of SF. As I see from your posts, you like some German cars, but hate all of them. An impressive feat of logic. Also, did you just start a bulleted list with one bullet/dash item?

so, let me say this....    Audi, Volkswagen,Porsche,And Bugatti are all poo from the last decade. lamborghini too.

what do you guys know, you lease them.

so parts being sourced from Audi group has nothing to do with the manufacturing?   wow, you are catching on.

every product they make, whatever you want to call them. is defective.

do you guys repair them?  i thought so.

just a heads up on their stuff. go Merc or BMW, more solid cars can be had for the money.

And thanks to @Find Finn for confirming what i am saying. as a whole? pass.

any other mechanics on here?

Stop spewing bile TV it only shows how ignorant on this subject you are.

Last night, the driver in front of me flicked his cigarette butt out the window and landed in front of my car, barely missing it. I was not in a good mood and that just made it worse. I changed lanes so that I don't have to drive behind the jerk. Once I had changed lanes, he floored it so I said the heck with this and floored it myself and got in front of him and let him have...

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
my window washers.

European delivery. BMW has the best ED program of the 3 major German manufacturers.
