Given that the main reason I'm doing this is to sell the car, looks like I will have to pay a visit to my bank. I guess this is what I get for borrowing money.

Lol what, I haven't used/received/seen a cheque for 5+ years and using cheques for banking is hopelessly outdated.

Basically he got the loan he needed/wanted. That 1% interest will equate to less than $175 a year and will decrease each year after, which in the grand scheme isn't much. If that amount of money is material to you, then the car is out of reach (don't mean you personally but in general). GF only cared about the lowest monthly payment possible to get the best current cash flow since he doesn't plan on keep the car for the full term of the loan. The total cost of the car after interest payments didn't matter. Makes sense to me. Only downside is if he decides to keep the car through the full term of the loan in which case he would've paid an extra few hundred $.

while i agree that it's outdated, I use checks all the time: housekeeper, riding lessons, trash/water/sewer bills (have to return payment with stub), preschool

Dead hooker in the trunk, but that's normal for BMWs.

Thanks all. Feels so good to be driving a manual again -- rev match downshifting FTW!

Car feels tight af and rides like it's on rails.

Thanks!

To put the cherry on top, my dad told me about a Geico quote he got on my behalf and my monthly premium is now $80 instead of the $150 with Liberty Mutual -- same exact coverage. Mind blowing how huge of a discount I can get with one provider vs. another.

Edit: Geico is so fucking cheap it's insane.. I just boosted my coverage to 1 mil / 1 mil for liability and uninsured for only $50 / 6 months more. Crazy.
