New 450 is as fast as the old 550. You know how cheap I am.

No, not touching AMGs. I didn't write down the details as this was by phone. If the dealer will trade will give deets when I pick it up.

Hope it works out, Piob. The new GL is really nice. They're hard to get around here right now.

Same here. There's no telling if the other dealer will give it up but my dealer does have one to trade off.

While the GLs are tough to get, most MB dealers will be happy to trade away a 450, especially if it's for a 350.

I know how you manage your cars, so it's not a concern for you, but the 450 is generally considered the lame duck of the lineup (resale, saleability, etc).

Otherwise, nice spec... I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

Yup. Sounds like a Civic with a fart can exhaust!

Lol, I only wish you were correct. Three dealers contacted and three denials. No 450s on my local lot but five 350s. First time I wish a troll was correct IRL.

No troll here, just have a lot of experience with these. Perhaps the dealer ordering breakdown is different where you are.

I'd be inclined to say that the lack of 450s on the ground reinforces my point... I know at least half a dozen dealers that just don't order 450s for stock.

So in other words no matter the outcome you're always right

You do realize the vast majority of GLs sold are 450s, right? As in 60% of all GLs sold are 450s?

60%, troll.

We clearly live in different markets. I was curious, so I checked with two nearby dealers and two others across the country... They all claim the 350s and 550s make up the majority of sales (say ~40% each) with the 450 next and then a handful of 63s.

I have no reason to make any of this up or anything to gain if I were. As I said, you have a nice spec, I was just surprised your dealer wasn't able to do a trade to get you a 450 on short notice. I'm sure eventually they'll get a deal done for you and you'll love the truck.

Nary a GL450 to be had on Long Island. Hard to get around here these days, big shortage. Saw a GL63 in Manhattan yesterday, really sharp looking ride. I was also told there are basically zero LR4's in country as they focused on the new sport and forgot to make the LR4s.

So you called four dealerships and quizzed someone there about their GL sales patterns? Two nearby and two "across the country?" I have to say you're a persistent one but you do realize this tale is both hard to believe and does not conform to reality.

The majority of sales will fall to the GL450 in the US with the rest split between the GL350 BlueTec and GL550.

Amazing how all my data indicates Mercedes has told folks 450s make up 60% of production and sales are 450s yet all your data says 80% is made up of 350s and 550s. Is there any difference between the data I have provided and you have? Hmm, let me think...oh yeah, people can click on my links and read my data while we have reports of four phone calls you've made.
