Cars We Drive! - Page 847

so glad those are illegal in CA

The worst part is that they look like parked vans, so you have close to 0% chance of spotting them.

They take everything from +3mph over, so doing 33 in a 30 = fine and they increased them since I got them so now the lowest traffic fine you can get in a car is a $183.

Wow, I spent some months in DC and I was always careful. Now I'm glad. Really thought I'd gotten tagged on the Washington Parkway, or whatever the road along the Potomac between Arlington and Alexandria is - I was with traffic in the interlagos M, left lane, and was the first in line because the car in front of me had abruptly changed right and slowed. For a moment, I had forgotten how MUCH faster the traffic on that stretch travels above posted. No Valentine because I had just come in from VA. Thanks to that officer for giving me a break. I was more circumspect after that experience.

You just got pulled over too?!

Ugh this really blows. Look at how beautiful the M3 is head-on (that rear fender icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif):

And then look at how fugly its side profile and rear-end is:

Al these tickets remind me of when my Dad got 2 in about a 4 hour drive in Indiana lol8[1].gif He also got pulled over 5 times I think total

Speed limits changed from 25-55 but he had no idea since it was all small roads and he was just going speed of other drivers

First time was at the service road of 75 by Haskell, near the Target there.

Second time was again on the service road of 75 but on Mockingbird, I believe? The intersection where the Palomar is on the left and SMU is on the right.

There's also always a cop hiding in one of those parking lots near The Church of the Incarnation on McKinney around Cole Park.

Not as nice as its 2-door counterpart but still an attractive vehicle:

Point is I don't understand why BMW riced the shit out of the M3/4, especially when you look at the cosmetic "enhancements" of the M5/6 over their non-M equivalents. I guess BMW is expecting the old EVO/STI crowd to be moving on up and that's who they're targeting with this car.

Give me a regular M6 and lets call it a day...

Was actually looking at M6's yesterday and they go for the same money as a 550D or a A6 3.0tdi with the same milage. uhoh.gif

Even the GC devalues like a rock.

It sort of makes sense to rice up the lower end of the brand offering. They can drive the grown ups into the more expensive but understated 5/6 while entice the show-off kids into the 3/4. They are already dealing with a wealthy market, but now they are asking people to pony-up for the less ostentatious models.

The more I think of it, the more fashion houses have always worked like that. Armani Jeans is all blingy, but once you reach Gorgio Armani there isn't a logo to be found.

Edit: Or Polo to RLPL for a more StyFo oriented analogy.

Everyone knows why- They rice them up because most people who buy M cars do it for status and bragging rights. So better to be ostentatious.

I can't imagine a cop hanging out in the first sport. I don't even know where a cop could hang out on on Mockingbird; it's a fairly busy road with no shoulder. They were gunning radar/laser from the side of the road?

What are you looking at? The cheapest new model used M6 I see on cars.com is $90k.
