Several VWs had this when I worked in a dealership. Was probably the kind of thing you could have swapped out if you wanted.

Pretty good idea IMHO...

It's a couple of screws/bolts.

They just had a press conference, it doesn't look good.

wooo mister fancy. shog[1].gif My car has an overly hot heating system, a DOS-like OS, and a Playstation One-like transmission.... and a center console for my Oiiver Peoples. Possible upgrade to Oliver Goldsmiths thanks to this thread.

Heavily considering adding a section 2 x- pipe for a louder dat exhaust note.

Will probably go used cause I don't want to spend too much.

Yeah, my Z4 had this, so I was surprised when the questioner said he had a 6-series. In the Boxster, I keep them in the center console, and the Mini had a cmpartmoent above the glovebox.

My old Dodge Durango has a sunglasses compartment in what I charitably refer to as the overhead console. Neither my BMW or MB have any sunglass stowage.

While I'm here, after a couple of weeks of comparison between COMAND and iDrive - iDrive's ipod/mp3 interface is about a million times better. When my ipod crashes in the MB (not the car's fault entirely, the ipod is prone to semi-frequent random reboots), it always starts over at the beginning of the alphabet so I end up listening to a lot of AC Newman. The BMW does a better job of keeping the plot, and also lets you connect a flash drive with music which is fairly easy to play from. I don't have nav on the MB so perhaps the nav-free COMAND is dumbed down and the source of my frustration as opposed to the COMAND system writ large.

i can confirm that NA Fords have that as well.

Which brings me to what I am driving: rented a Ford Fiesta for a NYE in NYC trip with a few friends. Wasn't expecting much other than decent gas mileage and that really is all she has.

Pluses: Comfortable but fabric interior which is not surprising. USB, aux, and 12v charger all in the car so we could tailor our playlist. Good gas mileage like I said before. The lighting on the dash is pretty appealing with the "Tron" style lighting; blue and white with a hit of red (even the cup holders have glowing blue rims). Adequate trunk/boot space which caught me off guard in a good way of course.

Negs: the key fob, which unlike that BMW i3 monstrosity is simple but provides zero feedback. It's shape is unwieldy at times but I blame that on be used to driving my e34 and a 2005 Ford Focus. The acceleration wants to appear sporty but drags at 40-50 mph, luckily it picks up again around the high 60's. steering is very unsatisfying and nothing like the light and nimble manual focus I flick around corners. Setting up the MP3 player was the most unpleasant situation ever; far from user friendly. Also not having automatic seats as standard on a 2013-2014 car should be a crime.

Apologies for a sentence issues and lack of flow. Typing this on my phone.

Side note: Brooklyn bound NYC highways still suck.

for a good time, you're supposed to leave NYC on NYE.

No, this is standard BMW consoles. In fact, that wheel on the right is a touchpad. Then it'll have a 10 inch screen up above.

Why not remove the warning label on the radio?

I would not turn this on other than at the track given how people are getting arrested for their youtube videos.
