I took a chance and ordered a UK7.5 today. I'll update on sizing and custom fees to California when I get them.

It's the likely custom duty (for the US) that is making me pause on those boots. IIRC Around 200 pounds shipped (cost of boot plus shipping), which is around $310. Then - if what I hear is right - customs is anther $100. Since I have not seen the boots IRL, hard to say whether they are worth that money, or whether I should wait fr a Trickers or some other boot makers' sale.
Pity those guys won't ship Royal Mail (less chance of being hit with a custom duty apparently)

I just received some shoes from Alfred Sargent shipped via UPS to Illinois. There were NO custom charges. Your mileage may vary.

You'll get a bill from USP in a few weeks

I received my FS029 boots today after dealing with Fedex BS the past 6 days. Boots were shipped from the UK last Monday and were stuck in Fedex customs in Memphis since Wednesday. I spoke to numerous customer support agents and faxed in documentation but due to their incompetency they were only released yesterday. I complained to a number of folks so we'll see wha't's the next step if and when I receive the customs charges.

On to the boots. I'm a 8.5D on the Alden Barrie last (9D on Grant) and have the RL C&J Marlow wingtips on the 325 last in US8.5D/UK8. I took a chance and sized down a full size to a UK7.5F for the FS029 because the UK8 was sold out. Glad I did as they are slightly loose in the heel and forefoot although the toebox is a little narrower than my Barrie shoes. Leather feels a little cheaper and the color was a little lighter than I expected. Other than that they feel and look pretty good so far and I definitely see myself using them as my beater, bad weather boot this winter. Cost so far was around US$315 which includes Fedex International Priority. Shipping should have taken 3-4 days to California if they didn't screw things up.

Nothing yet. When it comes I'll complain again about the lack of Fedex service...
