Looking for some EG shoe color input - Page 2

Thanks for the comments. I've been scouring the Google looking at photos and reading up on brown v burgundy and remain pretty torn. I am curious as to how the EG Burgundy wears. Does it appear darker or redder on the foot. Given a quick glance would they be mistaken for black, red, a shade of brown? I already own Corthay Arca's that draw attention to themselves so I am looking for a nice shoe but one that is less obtrusive. I've had enough of the boss looking down at my feet, shaking his head and sighing. That is why I was initially just considering black. But, I also agree that if you are doing one pair of EG's it would be a shame not to take advantage of their beautiful finishes so... Also, out of curiosity, is burgundy a year round color or is it more fall and wintery?

Burgundy certainly can't be mistaken with black, but they are discreet enough not to draw much attention. Perfect in almost all occasions !

Also, keep in mind that Dark Oak seldom photographs well. It is quite unique and nearly always photographs lighter in shade than what it is in reality. That being said, I own both and would still give the versatility nod to Burgundy. Buy the color YOU like best because IMHO you cannot make a mistake here. Both are subtle and beautiful!

Black.

Given your additional scenario description, definitely burgundy. No one's doubting Dark Oak is great, but brugundy's more flexible and more subtle.

Edit: It is a year-round color.

Thanks again for the input. However, I've decided to head over to JAB and just pick up a pair of their shoes during the big weekend sales event. Actually, I've come to recognize that there is no wrong choice so there is no need to keep stressing out over this. I will take all of the advice under consideration and come to a sane, rational conclusion. I mean we're just talking about a pair of shoes after all. Thanks again all the same and I'll post photos when the shoes arrive.

No one wants to see your JAB shoes.

Never opt out because of the opinion of others.

You simply can't go wrong with the 888 Inverness and 89 Beaulieu in Burgundy.

Or the Berkeley in Dark Oak, or the Chelsey in Black.

And if you have a hard time choosing, just develop a plan to have them all.

I would just start with the Burgundy. It's a more versitile color.

I have the Beaulieu in Burgundy on the 82. Great shoe!
