Boss quality isn't that great, but it's not terrible either, a bit worse than Prada, I would put it at maybe 75% of AE quality.

I wouldn't buy those sneakers for $70 personally, and I'd hold out for different boots. Nordstrom Rack and Off 5th typically have a decent amount of Varvatos for low prices in my experience.

A few ideas: RM Williams (Sator's post & images) http://styleforum.net/showpost.php?p=212305&postcount=3 And, I'll go with my boots (again): http://www.styleforum.net/showpost.p...12&postcount=4 I also got these recently from a seller on eBay.co.uk but they are much dressier (discontinued CT/Loake boots) There were some nice quasi-combat boots I think minya posted in the Streetwear forum I liked. And the Mantelassi jodphur boots previously linked to are nice! P.s. I hope to get some RM Williams myself at some point

Thanks for the feedback on the Mark Nason Ciprianis. I like some of the boots I see being suggested and I do not doubt that they will last for decades. The only problem I have with them is that they look, well, a bit boring. To me anyway. I'm sure they more than satisfy the aesthetics of the majority here, and I do like the subtle details and my tastes will probably change over the years and grow to love them as much some of you do. So I guess I am indeed paying for the design of the ciprianis. As for the quality part, this is also a pretty big deal. I don't like Old Navy disposable, but I also don't mind if they don't last me 30 years. Any ideas on the actual quality of the Mark Nasons?

To the original poster:

I found some decent Varvatos boots on Bluefly for a reasonable price, if you like the style.

Quality is purpotedly very good; don't know much about the fit.
