Why do "good" sneakers HAVE to start at $300?

That's one thing I hate about these forums.... you don't have to spend $2000 on an outfit to look good, nor do you have to wait for an annual sale lasting for 1 hour to get decent clothes at a decent price.

Let's be clear... 90% of Air Jordans are hopelessly gaudy and can really only be justified in Halloween costumes. But like dude said, some of the earlier ones were great. The AJ1s are really good looking, particularly in that classic mid shape.

There are some elements of style that are universal. Good cuts, good quality fabrics and seamwork, etc. PRICE and BRAND != style.

Or you can make your head as big as Kid Cudis so that the silhouette of the big shoes and skinny jeans balances out.

When I visited nyc in 08 everyone was all about skinny jawnz and the red/black/white iii's

I'm still trying to figure this thread out. What kind of discussion was meant to take place that hasn't taken place on NT a thousand times I imagine, a picture laden thread full of jordans? Jordans of the future? Your favorite jordans of yesteryear? Ok then what?

Btw it's all about the I, III, IV, and Vs /thread.

Basically, yeah. Forum threads don't really need to come out with a hardline thesis do they? Shows us J's, talk about J's, hate on J's.. things that are J related.

niketalk that way >>>

I & IV are my fav.

Why can't J's be discussed in streetwear? Niketalk, hypebeast korean dudes will "dopeee" anything in a ridiculous colorway and limited production. + 1 for japan-only collabs and shit. I like to think Sf pays attention to things they don't over there- shape, little details (lacing stance, laces, soles) overall aesthetic.. don't think those NT NSB guys get CP or Margiela all too well.

i'm still trying to figure this whole forum out. what kind of discussion was meant to take place that hasn't taken place in real life. haha. /sarcasm

it's all about the v's and xi's!

Unless you care about sports, there are just too many sneakers nicer than jordans for them to be an option among the style conscious IMO.

I see where you're coming from but they have their own appeal in ways nicer and thoughtfully designed sneaks don't- in other words, yeah there are nicer sneaks for sure. But these have an appeal you don't get with designer sneaks. Whether or not the appeal is worth shit is a different question..

That last shot is really cool. It looks like some sort of non-designer precursor to RO, eh?

Why do you assume that because someone disagrees with you on something that they have all kinds of asinine ideas? Yes, me saying that I like the baller sneakers and not Air Jordans means that I only think expensive outfits are good, obviously that makes sense. I'm a student do you think I spend $2000 on an outfit? Seriously? There are lots of good looking sneakers under $300, there are lots of terrible looking sneakers over $300, and Air Jordans almost universally look like shit.

I love how you hate stuff that exists only in your head that you make up as you go along just to have something to hate and get agitated over.

It's all about the 2's, 3's, and 4's for me.
