Any teachers on the forums?

I have a few questions I was hoping to ask a teacher. Preferably high school or a college professor, but any level will do. I have a few questions for a paper I'm working on (I'm in college, English major) but these are questions I need your opinion for, NOT homework help on understanding Hamlet or anything like that. If you could send me a PM or just let me know if you fit his criteria and then I'll PM you, I'd really appreciate it. It won't take long =) Thanks! EDIT: It's not anything particularly in-depth or controversial, it's about Wikipedia.

It's an English Lit teacher you're looking for?

Not specifically, any type of teacher. I'm just looking for a teacher's opinion on certain things, their particular field of study does not matter.

Wikipedia is not a scholarly source for humanities research. Period.

I am a faculty member in a technical field. No, wikipedia is not a scholarly source, but it can give good leads.

+1, it's fine as long as you go to the citations, which don't always back up what they are used for on wikipedia.

In my discipline, the main question is "was there peer review?". Wiki is not considered peer reviewed.

See Milpool's advice below:

Peer review is the gold standard. If the Wiki article in question mentions some legitimate academic studies, why don't you read them? Better yet, make an appointment with a reference/research librarian and learn how to figure which secondary literature is actually relevant and high quality.
