Folk Clothing - Quality and Fit

Can anyone comment on the fit and quality of Folk clothing, specifically their knits? I've been eying this cardigan for a while, but can't tell how it will fit:

In my experience, the quality is terrible: I have a shirt and the buttons broke for no reason, and a cotton sweater that keeps getting holes because it is poorly designed/constructed. That really is a shame, because I always seem to like what they do, but I swore I would never buy anything from them again. Fits are unusual but interesting.

I wish I could see some of their stuff in person, as the designs sometimes interest me. I haven't been all that interested (i.e., been lazy) to take a chance on a new brand lately. Too bad to hear about the poor quality, though.

I have last year's version of this cardigan. It seems pretty nice to me--interesting texture, nice buttons and good fit. I got a size 2 which I'd say equates to a fairly fitted size small in other things.

I have bought a couple of shirts and a cardigan from Folk. Quality is excellent and the fit is pretty accurate with their sizing guide.

I really like the look of the 'crochet cardigan', but I guess even at almost 50% off I am aprehensive after these low quality claims.

ive got a pair of plain brown shoes, a shirt and a "nearly cardigan" - i like all of them and the quality is good. not outstanding by any means but I cant confirm aboves complaints. as far as sizing is concerned, i usually fall between small and medium and 3 is def. too large for me.

I have a FOLK jacket and the button and button holes almost match up, creating a bulge when buttoned up. In my opinion the quality control needs some beefing up. Wouldn't buy online for this reason.

I always found Folk knit to be a bit to coarse for my taste compared to Albam etc. which retails around the same price.

I have 4 or 5 pairs of (sho)folk shoes and they seems to be well made.

anyone have the herringbone loopback trackpants and can comment on fit and quality?

My experience with Folk knitwear is very bad.

I bought a Folk "nearly cardigan" made from 100% wool. Size 3 was a good slim fit. After the first wash, by hand in cool water and wool light,
it shrank a lot and now is too slim to wear.
I washesd it together with a lambswool jumper from Uniqlo which kept its form and size perfectly.
The price of the Folk cardigan is ten times higher than the price of the Uniqlo jumper.

For me that was the first and last time to buy anything from them.
Folk is overpriced and pretentious.

On every Folk piece I had the buttons fell off after a while. angry.gif

The shoes are decent enough though.

I just had an other look at my Folk "nearly cardigan" and saw that there is a small hole already. After wearing it twice!!!
That’s the worst quality in any garment I ever bought.
Folk is a rip-off!

I've got a cotton/angora blend light sweater - quality seems okay but nothing special - buttons have held so far and minimal pilling - survived a hand wash fine.
Size wise I'm a 42" - 42.5" chest and went up to a size 5 as a 4 was too tight and it feels about right, although if I was nearer a 41-42" I'd go with the 4.

general consensus so far seems like

footwear - decent

knits - not great

shirting - buttons fall off
