This is why Americans are increasingly so insufferable. 99% of us eat fast food like a bunch of gluttonous farm animals, and yet instead of acknowledging the allure of its convenience, we lie to ourselves in hopes of saving a bit of dignity, as if there is any left to be saved by acknowledging the unhealthiness of the habit AFTER we facefuck a Big Mac and take a bukake of Special Sauce to the chin.

I haven't had McDonalds since 1996. Burger King etc even longer. I think I've had In-n-Out half a dozen times in that period.

I thought you were an Arby's patron? Regardless, you're the 1%.

Not sure what your gripe is, exactly. The poll didn't reveal what percentage of the 49% who have a negative view of fast food still eat fast food regularly (your made up 99% notwithstanding). And even if a lot of them do, I don't see the horrible contradiction in sentiments like, "I get fast food because it's cheap and the kids will eat it, but I know it's not a quality product and wish there were better options."

Or do you think that, by analogy, everyone who lives in tract housing with Sears siding (because that's what they can afford, because that's what's available near their workplace) should extol the virtues of that kind of architecture?

Was your last McDonald's trip so traumatic that you remember the exact year it took place?

This is Matt we're talking about. Every trip to where the unwashed masses reside is traumatic for him. Get him to tell you about the time he went to the post office...

These two factoids from the survey have me chuckling:

The first one because Repubs actually have something right (no h8 to any vegans). The second one because Repubs are getting portrayed as rubes, while Dems are not, when both sets of numbers are within the margin of error and almost identical to each other.

Yeah, that was ridiculous. I thought that the Olive Garden thing was grim until I imagined what the poll numbers would've been thirty or forty years ago (87%/13%?).

Ha, no. I loved McDonalds but one day I decided I had to quit, and I happen to remember when it was. I never ate there a ton, but it eventually grossed me out.

This is true. I could tell you about my trip to CostCo, but I might need to go to therapy from reliving it.
