When was the last time you stayed in a genuine bottom of the barrel motel? There is a threshold for hotels. I'm hardly advocating going top end, but Holiday innish at least. The bottom rung stuff is to be avoided. You will wake up sore from a crappy bed, and the cleanliness is often in doubt. As for other things to cheap out on, painkillers and Oxiclean. Buy drugstore Ibuprofen, it's the same stuff as advil, but without the name and with a much better price. Unless you have problems with the hard tablets and need the gels or something, there's no reason to spend more. Oxiclean is a very cheap chemical available in a myriad of generic options. And I guess I can throw other meds in there. If there's a generic, there is absolutely no reason to pay for the name.
