Italian knots

Hi,
I just joined this great forum. There's much I can learn here. I searched the forum and came up with tidbits of info, but I'd like to see if there would be new feedback.
Which knots seem to be the current trend in Italy? I'm seeing more sizable knots and the trend is here in the states as well. These knots are bigger and also a bit more loose looking, carefree and stylish. I like the look. Are they Four-In Hand, Cavendish, Pratt or an Italian knot etc?
I see this has been covered before, but the threads are a couple of years old. I have not been wearing suits and ties for a few years now and am getting back into fold again. I feel like Rip Van Winkle lol.

I use double FIh and Pratt all the time, no windsor .

The double FIH looks great. I like the Pratt as well. What would be considered an "Italian knot"? I saw a video on Youtube with one guy making what seems to be a Cavendish, but called it a Plazport, which I never heard of and then he says it's an Italian knot:

I guess any knot I make is an Italian knot cuz I'm Italian lol.

I think you'll find that the four-in-hand is more or less the official forum knot. Big knots are much maligned around these parts.

Thanks for the heads up. The FIH is what I usually use anyway.

I wonÂ´t call it double fih but another douche thing. Adam is wearing a very stylish fih. That first one is very common in bad politicians and douches.

Well said, never trust anyobe on a windsor knot.

Ey perhaps I was wrong as I always called this ( victoria ) a double fih I thoght victoria was has this already but with another turnaround.

I prefer the Pratt myself. I have a weird one that I use when looking for a longer and narrower knot though, not going to try and describe or go into details though. I'll just say it's cool and that it's rather obscure, so digging up the how to would be a PIA.

^^ so that's what I've been doing wrong. when I try a double FIH I always try to put the wide end between the 2 loops instead of inside the inner loop.

For me it depends on the tie's length and material, although generally speaking I prefer symmetric knots, so I only do FIH if it's a heavy silk.
I have one tie that is so long that even on me it requires a Windsor knot with a second loop ("double Windsor"?) to use up enough length, otherwise the slim end remains longer than the wide end. Bizarrely enough, the knot still turns out much less voluminous than with most of my other ties because the silk is so light:

Thanks for a the replies. So I looks as though on the double FIH the large blade goes UNDER the two pass overs and not between them? Or is it a matter of ppersonal preference? I've seen some vids that has it going between them. The Prince Albert, Victoria and Double FIH seem the same to me.
