One of our cats died today

Eight years ago, when my wife and I were newly married we got two kittens named Gandalf and Padme from the pound who we raised and loved.

They weren't from the same litter but they played together and got along great. We kept them indoors because indoor cats have longer lifespans.

This afternoon my wife called me at my office. She had come home from work and found Padme had died. She hadn't even given any signs that she was sick.

Just this morning I had received an e-mail from the vet wishing Padme a happy birthday because years ago we had estimated her birthday as April 21.

Padme could spend hours sitting in your lap and snuggling with you.

I have been crying on and off for the last 3-hours.

R.I.P. Padme 2002-2010

that's sad. I love my cats and dog and I'd be really sad if any of them died. I know my dog will be going soon, he's really sick and he's ~ 10 years old. don't want to think about it

Even though I've never had any good relationships with cats or owned any cats, I like them exponentially more than dogs. Sorry to hear about Padme.

I'm very sorry to hear about that. I grew up with 2 cats and we had to put one of them down a few years ago, it was very sad. RIP Padme, she's up in kitty heaven now.

Very, very sorry to hear this Brad. I've been dealing with a terminal cat for the last several days have been teary eyed myself. It's very amazing how much animals add to our lives and the huge voids they leave upon departure.

To everyone with an older cat they love, please go get a renal panel done. As I've found out all too hard, this is the #1 killer of older cats and doesn't manifest until they are far down the road.

RIP Padme.

Our vet sent my family the dog version of this book when our English Bulldog passed. It definitely helped ease some of the pain of the loss. Feel better, man.
