I find that silk absorbs heat. Silk is, as we all know, a natural insulator.

silk traps in heat. there is no comparison, not sure why you choose silk and linen. they are complete opposites in terms of temp coolness of wear

only thing i know of silk that why you wouldwear it in summer is the thinness of the fabric. and the way they cut the shirts and pants, usually huge armholes and tent blouse shirts and baggy pants. that's silk for you.

Linen. I've never been a fan of silk, and don't own anything made from it except for ties. I bought a silk shirt once, but never wore it. OTH, I have lots of linen and wear it a lot in summer.

I don't like linen because it starts to wrinkle up like crazy and therefore look like crap after about an hour of wear.

On the other, silk feels and looks amazing IMO.

Linen - it's also much easier to care for than silk.

That said, I do like a nice silk camp shirt *if* I'm someplace breezy, like the seaside or on a boat, because they're voluminous enough to get a nice undershirt breeze going
