Correct, both calf and shell.

Those are great candidates for a 'before and after' shot. A little elbow grease and they'll be awesome.

see, I think so too. they probably need an immediate resole and heel. but the upper looks to be in good shape, and I could probably give my cobbler $85 and these would look sweet. of course, I don't know what the insole looks like. that could be scary. Dr. Scholls?

The best way to tell will be to wait a week until this thread is forgotten. Then repost the pics in the shoe porn thread. If everyone drools over it, it's shell. Otherwise, it's boring calf...perhaps even corrected grain.

Vamp is clearly shell. Heel looks like calf. Any possibility of mixed leather types on one pair of shoes?
