Clothing - Music Associations?

Thread Starter
Do you associate a particular song with a particular item of clothing?
Background:
I bought a fantastically fitting pair of Diesel Cochise (?: wash and cut no longer available) jeans 10 years ago.
Driving home with the warm bag on the seat next to me the music which was playing on the car radio at that particular moment I have since associated with those particular jeans whenever I wore them. ?(unfortunately past tense here- worn to destruction...) The melody always was triggered by the physical action of putting them on.
Does anyone else have a similar experience when they wear (or even think about a certain item of clothing? Be interesting to hear what the music is and the clothing item...

BTW the music for me is a Crowded House track, Weather With You. Still not bad after so many years.

Can't say I've had this experience.

For the mainstream/designer+fashion denim crowd there's Lyric jeans. They print the damn lyrics onto the jeans themselves...hence the name.

all the time, but a bit different than how you described your experience. For me it's more about the tribal associations that are so closely linked with very specific clothes.

when I wear camo shorts, adidas, t-shirt I want to listen to hardcore since I feel like I'm dressed to go see Sick of It All/Terror/Think I Care etc

wearing Fred Perry polo shirts is all about listening to 4 Skins, Cockney Rejects, Anti Heros, The Bruisers, Hated and Proud etc

wearing 1947 Levis 501xx makes me throw on some Carl Perkins, Eddie Cochran, Johnny Burnette, Gene Vincent, The Go Getters, Three Bad Jacks

putting on some tasseled John Loake loafers are the days when you gotta throw on some Specials, Selecter, Madness, Bad Manners

I have a lot of strong associations, probably cos I tend to dress according to mood, and listen to music according to moods, so they tend to line up.

When I'm feeling suave - trim suits, Gucci loafers, long scarves - it's Interpol, Roxy Music, Portishead. On the other hand, if I'm rocking out, it's almost always Led Zeppelin (IV and Presence, mostly). And I almost always end up headbanging in front of the mirror while I'm getting dressed...

I agree completely, except for the part about the Levis and Loakes. Whenever I put on my camo shorts it's time to thrash. Two-steppy hardcore shit.

If anyone seriously did collection and called it "Prisoner 6 Double 5 321," I would buy it all and wear it to Halloween. Currently I was debating Patrick Bateman, as not many people would "get" the costume.
