Travel mugs that dont suck

Thread Starter
Well I tipped my ceramic travel mug off my desk on friday and now I need something to replace it. I'm open to suggestions.

I find that most plastic mugs smell like shit after a couple weeks and that stainless mugs are often leaving my coffee cold pretty quickly.

I liked my ceramic mug but it proved to be a bad idea on friday.

I bought a copper mug at a Wegmans a few years ago. Works well.

Both styles of Contigo mugs are good, depending on your use. They win.

Starbucks sells the best travel mug I've ever had.

I bought ten of these: http://www.amazon.com/Aladdin-Recycl...1632684&sr=8-1 The only travel mug I could find that is dishwasher safe. My wife and I both use them daily - if you forget one at the office or the dishwasher doesn't run for a few days, then I still always have a clean one available.

Because it's 100% recycled materials? Fucking hippie...

Highly recommend any of the Nissan thermo mugs. They keep your coffee warm/cold all day, and don't leak if the cap is screwed on correctly. My gf and I both have this version. Keep in mind that the coffee will keep its initial temp for a couple of hours, so if you put really hot coffee in in the morning, sipping it while commuting might not be a good idea.

That was a detraction when making the purchase; I generally avoid recycled as I hate the enviroment. My overwhelming laziness and complete lack of desire to manually wash my coffee cups won out though and the "dishwasher safe" promise sold me.

PS Call me a hippie again and I'll hunt you down

I also hate the environment so anything "green" usually adds a check in the negative column. Believe it or not I actually just finished burning some tires in my backyard and poured some used motor oil and bleach and in a local stream.

+1. This is the first travel mug I've ever had that doesn't leak. Keeps the coffee warm for four hours as well.

Love it.

I have not used all of the ones lauded here, but the Contigo are the best I've found, balancing design, temperature retention, and fit in a car holder.
