Ideas for a leek and fennel salad?

Any quick ideas for a good leek and fennel salad? I need for tonight (so pls post by 4pm EST thx ).

I was thinking of either simply braising them with white wine and stock or sauteing and serving with a dijon-type dressing.

Anyone have anything more exciting?

BTW, this is just one a many salads I'm serving tonight (rapini, tomato + olive, asparagus, and probably hummus) but feel I have to make more veggies for my buddy's vegetarian wife since I'm making a brisket in mushroom and peppercorn sauce.

I'd serve classic leeks in vinaigrette (boiled until soft, then dressed with vinaigrette and perhaps sprinkled with chopped egg) and then fennel shaved very fine, raw with a lemon dressing and parmesan cheese.

Thanks. So you're suggesting two different salads then? I was thinking of combining them but love raw fennel and will consider.

First of all, nice rack or not, why does a guy from toronto have a candians logo in your avatar? I do a fennel and radish salad with mushrooms and 1/2 lemon juice 1/2 truffle oil for dressing. Stolen from susan goss of west town tavern. It's good... kwilky can vouch.

I've lived in Toronto for ten years but my hockey loyalties have not changed since I was a kid.

Thanks for the idea. No radishes but I may have a bit of truffle oil left.

Great combo. I did a fennel, kohlrabi and radish salad not too long ago with a lemon dressing that went over very well.
