I think the listings are as good as they were before... I think the new format is less good for moving stuff, or something.

I don't think it has anything to do with the way listings work. The new system from an efficiency standpoint is way better than the old one. B&S is slow now because people are saving for sale season/Black Friday.

As somebody relatively new to SF, the sales used to less good? Maybe the presence from e-commerce (a la Mr. P) has made sales more competitive nowadays...would love to hear from the veterans

People really do expect great deals only from B&S, unless it's a highly coveted piece with a lot of forum hype. People dig through these thousands of pages for deals they won't find anywhere else. Also, I've noticed that if I price it poorly at the start (too high usually), it'll deter buyers as it'll sit and people will assume it's a less than good piece, even with price drops. There's a lot of psychology to selling on the forums, honestly.
