Looking at his feedback, that guy has sold 3 similar jackets recently. Are e-bay buyers just stupid to fall for fake items or is there any way these are legit?

Not really. Those are a few seasons old. Plus, that seems to be the Ebay outlet of Office/Poste, which is a pretty established small chain in the UK. I'll bet you $50 that the boots are legit (i.e. not fake).
