I have seen outliers but yes I am going to call that a general rule for the tailored stuff. I tried on a DVN suit today in 50 (which is my Margiela size) at Barneys and it looked stupid small.

I have a DVN silk cotton jacket in 52 and it fits right although still on the small size of a 52.

Bombers I would say that large = 50, although they run short.

Totokaelo got a really good DVN shipment in -- velvet floral blazer and similar print pants, reversible floral bombers -- but some weasel bought out the fat people sizes at full price, so there was literally nothing there that I could try on without damaging it.

I am about thisclose to hording DVN things.

If in doubt with Dries, the tailored stuff fits on the small side, while the more casual stuff fits more loosely.

That Dries would be awesome for the inevitable slew of outdoor summer weddings... too small though I think. I discovered I can fit into 16/41 Jil shirts though.

I own it in a different color. Check RP from a couple weeks ago, it's much nicer in person. It fits pretty slim though, and not particularly formal since the fabric is a multicolor melange (mine was cyan and orange woven into the grey).

I've been wondering if I actually need it (no one I know getting married soon) but I don't own a suit and it may come in handy.

Also dries fits TTS but there are regular, slim, ultra slim etc fits which tend to run tight in the shoulder, so if you're not tiny you could size up. The stores get that info so I'm not sure why they never post it online. Pants vary along the same lines from slightly small to slightly big

I like what looks like raised texture on this jacket, and also the sashiko stitching.
