The latter. I could really use a simplified procedure/system though, since browsing Ebay for bargains costs me at least 30 minutes a day...

Lanvinz with a reasonably low starting price. Some store apparently liquidated a bunch of rubberized achilles mids: http://cgi.ebay.com/Common-Projects-...ht_3248wt_1002 Because there are a bunch of them now on Ebay for reasonable prices. I BIN'ed a pair in my size (43). I find the Achilles Mids to be perfect travel shoes, and the rubberized ones doubly so because they can take a beating.
