J.Crew 36S: Why not?

I just got a J. Crew jacket back after about three trips to the tailor. It's a three-button Ludlow that I think looks pretty damn good on me ... that is, once I chopped an inch off the bottom and about half an inch off the sleeves.

I'm of pretty average height - a little over 5'9". And if I weren't so skinny, I'd be covered - J.Crew stocks both 38S and 40S. So why is it that us skinny guys are stuck having to do major surgery on a jacket when those with just a bit broader shoulders are covered?

I suspect I'm not alone. Anybody else have this problem with J.Crew's sizing? Or know of a way to elongate your torso by about an inch? Let me know.

Because companies cut costs by cutting down on sizes they have to stock, and they always screw over the slim guys these days becuase america is a nation of lardasses.

Is this a complaint that you can't find 36S jackets? B/c there are clothing brands outside of Jcrew. And why are you even wearing a short when you're 5 9+? Add to that Ludlow's are already cut a bit shorter than most jackets.

short/skinny people get screwed over by mall brand sizing, this is nothing new.

I like J.Crew but I'm tired of having to get the XS shirts tailored every time.

Go to Raleigh there is H&M in crabtree now they got skinny peoplez sizing or Benneton in Southpoint has skinny suits. Also what tailor are you using in Chapel Hill cause 3 times is kinda crazy.

Just noticed that JCrew has some jackets in 36S now... although shipping in July .

Short and skinny, sucks.

J.Crew has had 36S for some time now. I personally haven't seen them in the stores but I know they're available online.
