where to buy shirts - Page 2

You could try Lands End. Fabric and styling may not be anything to write home about - but construction is generally good and the shirts will last a long time.

I was about to suggest Lands' End. IIRC their OCBDs range from $19.50-$29.50 US (I believe that other styles are slightly more) and you can often find decent shirts for less in their "Overstocks" section, especially at the end of a season.

At the moment, J. Crew has (or had; they were going fast) certain dress shirts on sale online for $30 US or so. The Thomas Mason fabric ones are nice. I'd err on the large size with them if you are between sizes.

I've actually had good luck with the Express shirts. I own a bunch of them in different colors and use them as just everyday solid shirts. I probably own 10-15 better dress shirts that I use for more formal occasions and a equal number of cheaper ones (BR, Express) for daily wear.

Banana Republic has some shirts on sale for $25 USD that are nice, in the sky color, this is one of my favorites. http://www.bananarepublic.com/browse...546&pid=202442 French cuff version for $30. http://www.bananarepublic.com/browse...546&pid=337995 They actually have a bunch of fairly neat stuff in their sale. I picked up a couple T-shirts, a polo, and some other basic shirts a few days back.

Last weekend i picked up 3 shirts for a total of $98.00...i am sure you can get the same deal through the web site or catalog.

I'd agree with Joe Bank; I personally believe their products are at least a half-cut above the typical Department Store line; and as was stated, sizeable reductions from MSRP on their website are virtually constant.

They've also been running a two shirts for $59.99 clearance in their stores most of the summer. Obviously, the clearance table isn't the best place to find precisely what you want, and you'll virtually never find the typical white OCBD or broadcloth staple.....especially at a size like mine (16/35). But, like with most clearances, you'll find occasional examples of products like their higher-end Signature shirts at really good prices.
