Washington, DC sales - Page 34

Chevy Chase (friendship heights metro) has a strip of nice stores too - Ralph lauren, Barneys coop, Saks, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus). Not sure about their sales but worth browsing

Yes, the Ralph Lauren and Brooks Brothers are flag ship stores. The Streets store has some very nice merchandise but the sales associates are worthless. A few others include Allen Edmonds, Alden, Burberry, North Face, Lucky, Vineyard Vines, Levi's, Zara, Lacoste, J Crew, Bloomingdales & Suit Supply.

Disagree. I've only been into Streets once, last November, but I was helped by Grant. Me remembering his name should tell you something. Extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and well dressed. If he still works there I can't recommend his assistance enough.

J Press, another company I've only ever seen online and I'd love to take a peek for real. Thanks!

J Press is a great, great store. I'm not really interested in their merchandise at full price most of the time but it's great when you need a quality staple item right away. The staff is great too.

Over in White Flint Mall, the menswear store Bruno Cipriani is having a liquidation sale . Dress shirts are 50% off, and buy 2 get 1 free also applies; so basically buy three for the price of one at full price. Borrelli shirts 3 for $425 or so, Sartoria Partenopea 3 for $245.

A report from the fairly new TJ maxx at metro center.  Hopefully this will be one of the TJ Maxx's/Marshalls that get's the good stuff:

clearanced red tagged loro piana linen SC in 42R, i believe. blue denim color. unlined, clearnce price was $499.

clearanced red tagged facconable SC with LP fabric, clearance price was $150

4 or 5 Corneliani ID SC, all unlined, clearance price was $150-200

2 RL black label puffy vest with a lot of rings flair action going on. Not sure if they were down. clearance price for these was $300 (could have been $199, cant remember), one was green one was brown. M and a large.

Reg priced stuff:

4 or 5 BB suits with this tag:

except the tag had gold or bwn stitching. Price was $349.99.
sizes ranged from 40 to 44Rs.

a good number of RL black label dress shirts, $99?

a RL black label twill SC. color was black and really stiff. Like it could stand on it's own!

1 or 2 HF suits.  tag on these said "Hickey" reg sizes. I think these were also $349.

Really miss the old filenes basement around there. :(

Streets of Georgetown is Closing down in January.
Currently the entire inventory is 60% Off. If Hickey Freeman is your thing - plenty of it.
I was hoping to grab a Filson - however someone cleaned the entire range out last Friday.

Prices are now 70% off at Streets. I believe they officially close the 2nd week of January so prices may be slashed some more after the new year. Still quite a few SCs and suits available as well as shirts and sweaters.

Can we get a revival on this thread? Also, would you guys want to coordinate a DC SF meetup?

Can anyone recommend a really good thrift or consignment store in the area that carries a good selection of sport coats?
