If it's your mustache and beard area, then I really see no problem with this. If however, by facial hair, you also include eye lids, forehead, upper cheeks, nose...then, yeah, you may want to see a doctor.

If it really bothers you, you can look into beard growth inhibitors - i'd say the difference is minimal but I've had a few people write in saying that after months of regular use they can skip a day of shaving. They must have light beards though, if you have a heavier beard then they may just delay the onset of your 5 'o' clock shadow.

Also if daily shaving really irritates your skin, you might want to read this. Your skin gets irritated because you're shaving off a layer of skin from your cheeks every day so it's important to build that layer back up.
