Yeah the W+H "court hi" are basically a better version of the JE hi tops imo. It seems like what JE wanted to do, but couldn't.
You could always just gets some chucks or even some Ann D hi tops seem like they'd fit what you're looking for; offered in suede or leather in off white, zipper entry, interesting but still "plain", easy to wear....

Agree Anns are nice. How about raf, pierre hardy (with and without side zip), feit, balenciaga, givenchy (CP rip)?

Haha go to the JE affiliate thread and scroll back a few pages and you'll find an opinion that is the complete opposite of yours.

I always thought that model of Balenciagas was nice. I wonder how they look with a year or two of regular wear.

Random question, but what's the most expensive sneaker on the market right now (at retail)? Rick Owens python leather geobasket?
I see $4000 lizard geobaskets and then $3300 louboutins but there's probably some stuff that just isn't as widely available I can't think of atm

Thanks for all the suggestions. Ann D's look great, but haven't found anywhere stocking the white hi's this season. Considering these, which were a forum fave from last year, as a stopgap, but had been trying to get out of the habit of buying things I didn't really love:

Also I take a 10 in Nikes (UK) but they only have a 9, not sure whether to risk it with no returns.

I haven't owned Chucks in years but everybody says the run 1-1/2 size big so a 9 might actually be perfect.

@MaiLam another option could be some Ivory Skagway Hi's

I considered Visvim briefly but in all honesty at that price point I'd want leather. Also for a practical reason as well, with UK/London weather being what it is, canvas and my feet would soon be the victims of many a puddle.

I'm guessing something hideous made by Zili.

Thanks for the help with the Hi-Tops, especially Occulta. Have a pair of those suede converse on the way, but also took a gamble on these No. 288s :

Hoping that the contrasting trim makes them look a bit more relaxed, wasn't really going for a super clean/minimalist aesthetic. Curious about the leather too, been pretty nonplussed when messing with CPs lately. Anyone else have anything from this brand?

Berluti has a crocodile sneaker that was $6000+. Possibly $9000, can't remember exactly.
