You must be confused, all welts are split as they are a single piece of leather, it will never be continuous...The warp on the derby is likely just deformed from pressure in storage or slightly different thread tension on stitching or properties of the leather. Neither are worth fussing over.

for the Lanvin fans, do you feel the patent leather cap toe is a little cheesy over time, or do you prefer them to the non-glossy cap toes? i'm trying to decide whether to get one of the basic lanvin cap toe lows, and whether with patent leather (classic) or something more subtle (non glossy).

i think the patent leather adds good contrast to most outfits.

The entire point of those Lanvins, IMO, is the patent toe. If you're considering a colorway without the patent, I would just look at other brands.

Ok, I'll admit that the HS Jordans are surprisingly versatile, goes with everything I have, except for maybe an all Schneider fit. Will probably wear those for a while to break in the leather. Saves a lot of rotation troubles. Added bonus, for me at least, is that most people will just think they're non-baller Jordans, but I can still lowkey stunt on hypebeasts.

Just wait until the Jordan "wheat" come out.

Any recommendations for white(ish) hi-tops, relatively simple in design? Struggling find the right mix between something not too bland but not too far the other way. Ideas so far are:

Pics (Click to show)

RO, zip is nice as laceless boots have made me lazy.

JE, these are OK but a bit boring in all honesty

CPs, not overly taken by them but they're decent. BBalls could work as well.

Diemme Fontesis don't really do it for me (but the Nonnative ones in a similar rough suede from last season were killer, albeit stupidly expensive) and Qasa hi's are a bit too tech. Saint Laurent doesn't appeal (more the brand than the silhouette) either. Hopefully there will be a few I haven't thought of!

Wings and horns hi tops? Or CP tournaments (I don't like the Achilles mids/highs at all).

Normally not a fan of Wings and Horns but this season's look nice, sadly they don't have the sizes. The Service High in a white colourway could have been a great match, good shout.

In all honesty, I'd prefer to avoid CPs altogether, the leather for the price never satisfies and can't see many white colourways making it to the sales.

Leaning towards branching out into the ROs at the moment (good price on grailed and I'll go to their London store next week), but really don't want to tailor my aesthetic to them so thought the ones I linked could be a bit safer than geobaskets. Then again, normal fit + RO footwear can make them look a bit goofy, sometimes :violin:
