It's silly to view an entire forum in a negative light over one sour experience with one person, though, especially when said forum has shown a habit of "sharing the wealth."

Then I'll retract that statement and make it 'a negative light on a few members'. I guess that would be more appropriate.

With every posting you make it not only shows how selfish you are but I'm sure anybody who associates with you views you as 'that' guy.

Nor are you mine, I have no clue whatsoever who you are, so I have no trouble selling you stuff for more than what I paid, but if I'm selling something to Pinkpantser or Synthese I am not going to try to put the screws to them on the price, I think I sold Synth his cloak jacket for less than half what I paid and I'm glad because he has gotten lots of use out of it and wears it really well.

The notion that re-selling my clothes on an internet forum is some sort of pure, untainted capitalist enterprise when I spend most of my days in an environment where "give or take a million dollars" is a commonly heard phrase is kind of amusing. How old are you?

That depends on how much you believe in friendship. Also, btw on that thread you posted I only paid 240 for those CPs, and I don't know how that is relevant considering the seller lost money because he bought them off hiyo, not yoox.

I think that the unfortunate fact is that SF, at least the side I've got exposure to, really isn't a close-knit community. It's kind of like a high school, with all the associated cliques, popular kids, and loudmouths. You'll notice that there are a fair number of buyers and sellers who don't interact outside of the classifieds section, unlike (perhaps?) a more directional forum (WRX part-swapping comes to mind, similar to AR's ski forum), where people are there to help out other enthusiasts. There are certain members of SW&D that basically look out for each other, but that's really the "in-crowd," and I'm not quite sure how you earn that privilege. Dmash, while I'm not really sure I can say that buying + flipping is really that "stand-up" - and here I'm talking about buying from members and selling for a markup; not sample sales, etc. - there's not much to say on a forum of this size other than "make your connections and move on." Selling used goods is mostly a different animal anyway. But, like AR6 said, I've had amazing deals from him, not to mention jet, and several other members - I think that among the SWD cognoscenti there is a "watch the other guy's back" mentality, but that doesn't mean you're a made man the instant you register.

Yeah, I believe I'm just going to take that advice. I've met some really cool guys on here who have not only gave me good advice but good deals as well. I guess you're always going to get a few bad eggs.

By the way dmash I have 2 BoO XL shirts from back when I was bigger, one white one contrast collar chambray, and an ervell club collar in the same size, will post at some point when I make my sale thread into a summer sale thread.

Will be expecting at least 300% of retail, though, just fyi.

Yeah. I'm not even sure I'd call them "bad eggs" - although some certainly are. It's more the hobbyist/capitalist division that AR6 mentioned; some are here because they enjoy fabrics, silhouettes, runway presentations, and spreading that love around; others are here because they want to make a buck. More power to both parties, I'd say, and there's certainly crossover, but unless you've got a group of people much, much smaller or much more focused than we have here I'd say you can't really avoid the money-making aspect of forum sales.

Dude you need to pick your fights. You have always been a good friend and have given me good advice/deals, even though I'm a noob and most people on here won't even acknowledge my existence, but you need to know when to shut your mouth before everyone on here hates you. I'm by no means defending making a profit off seeing a sale first, but you get what I'm saying.

Shut my mouth before everyone hates me? Haha, the only person offended is Margiela and perhaps Whatever.
