Who is everyone? Outside of Balmain, I am not sure I've seen many use the strap? And Creative Recs aren't even the first to use those straps, Creative Recs designs are mostly stolen from other designers to begin with.

And by the way, it isn't pointless, it helps secure/tighten the shoes to your feet. Nike trainers use the same straps to help make it feel locked to your foot, it is merely a deign aesthetic for these designer shoes but it isn't pointless.

On the gFs the buckle looks like an afterthought, on these adidas SLVRs they're integral to the design:

^Great use of plastic buckles, IMO.

Ouch. I like mine a lot, from B&S -- Barney's collab, some sort of made-in-italy-on-the-common-projects-sole affair. Patent toes and navy mesh leather. I wonder if I could just lap off the strap, though, which I agree feels rather pointless.

noob, yours is up on the foot where it belongs. I have a pair of Diors and a pair of Lanvins with similar straps, wasn't knocking that at all -- it's when it's down on the toe that it's idiotic (and looks horrible IMO), unless you're rock climbing or something.

RFX, as well as Balmain, I have seen Dsquared, Gucci, and I think either Lanvin or KVA/DH do the toe strap, and the fact that Creative Recreation is cheap derivative shit is exactly why I used that description.

On a designer sneaker, that fits you, it is a pointless feature. And ugly. So I'm bitching. biggrin.gif

Nike shoes with straps fits too, I have no idea why that is even a reason. Like I said, it's an aesthetic in these designer shoes so it isn't entirely pointless but looks are subjective and not all are ugly. Laces on GATs are pointless but it comes with a pair and other feels it is also ugly w/o laces while others doesn't.

Not sure I've seen Lanvin do it, at least not recently as you propose that you are implying . KVA has always done crazy strap on their sneakers which I highly doubt were inspired by CRs, haven't seen it on any recent KVAs either. DSquared has always been ugly but again, I haven't seen them use it recently. They have a sneakers with 3 straps but again that is the style.

I really think you are just looking for any reason to bitch.

I said "why is everyone doing that strap" because I've seen it a few times and it's ugly. I don't know why you're still talking about it. Really.

Because it's a discussion board and you keep replying, which I assume was a conversation we are having? I'm sorry if I answered your rhetorical question.

Again you said you've seen it and I simply I haven't. I really do not remember nay Lanvin with a strap by the toe. So by your comment: "why is everyone doing that strap" means why are designers doing it in the past 10 years? Is that even a serious question other than trying to troll?

Also it doesn't help that all your post in this thread have been nothing but bitching and moaning from the start.

I think GoldenTribe was influenced by the buckles in the F/W 2013 DH show.

Those were really stupid. Particularly on the duffle coat.

MrPorter has their StLaurent stock, only low tops though, not sure why stores outside of boutiques aren't selling the hi's yet. Lows still looks like Stan Smiths.

MrPorter also got Ann D's, best pic of the contrast sole yet. Really liking them.

MrPorter also got the Balenciaga lows.

Am I crazy to love those balenciaga lows in blue.
Nah, I know a few people who likes them too, I'm not feeling the mid sole, it looks too plasticky almost toyish in that color.
