I definitely never looked at it much...I have a couple crisp white shirts from them and a bracelet (don't ask), but it wasn't as though PIlati was Mr. Inspiring on the sneaker front (plus made in portugal is a bit disappointing).

Anyway, when I was there, there was this very stark contrast. They have out the F/W collection on sale, and maybe it's because only sale items are remaining, but it was like night and day compared to the new S/S stuff not yet released. I particularly like some of the knitwear, shirts, and hoodies in the new collection. The guys there told me that Hedi did not spend a ton of time on the S/S collection, and that the real deal will be his upcoming F/W...we shall see. A little drama isn't a bad thing to liven up the industry.

Pilati has always been underappreciated on this forum though there was the seasonal posting of his collections in the runway threads (which I do not follow any longer as I do not like that aspect of fashion). At a time when there wasn't much to look at I would pop in to the ysl store and always find several things I wanted. Some were reasonably priced while other were not but there was no denying the evolutionary classicness that Pilati instilled each season that maintained relevance without all the gimmicks/fluff that Hedi brings. I could see how fashion bois would go apeshit over the new stuff but it doesn't have lasting appeal like older ysl and again I don't really consider him a real designer but more of a one trick pony.

The way Pilati was treated at YSL and finally let go is a damn shame too. Hopefully he'll get the support he deserves at Zegna.

Has there even been time yet for anybody to legitimately like YSL under or because of Hedi?

Pilati's YSL was always great, but too pricey for me, especially then (2012 was the first year I got to spend money on clothes instead of school)

Who was that guy that bought like 6 pairs of plain wool YSL trousers for $700 each?

I'm not sure I can buy Zegna though (well I do own a nice woven black/navy shirt), my YSL electric blue bomber does get a lot of wear though...

I think the laces look a little weird because they're so blindingly white. Should look better once they've been dirtied a bit.

the laces dont really get that dirty, these look good, too bad all the rest of rick footwear is shittastic right now

RO shoes often come with both black and white laces anyways so you can just switch them up.
Those are nice though.
