Well at least that is actually approved by whoever is running MMM these days, I can guarantee you that all these Target and Macys brand are all just rip-offs.
I mean no matter what people say about Diesel coming out with "Margiela-like" sneakers, it still doesn't come close to the OG Hi's and I never really seen any brand ripping it off that sells for $50 at a Target or any department store. I've seen Kenneth Cole try to copy the old Lanvin Hi's but you'd never mistake it for real Lanvins. The only one I remember that was a blatant rip-off is the Danielle Alesi-something, which probably wasn't even a rip-off because it probably came from the same factory and I believe quality was on par too ands till retailed for several hundred bucks.
Madden and Aldo... I actively loathe the shit these companies make... ugh. The more I see those HMMMM f'g GATS the more I hate them as well.... they really look like shit and will last all of approximately a month or so before looking like total shite!
agree with you jet.... but it's a blessing and a curse of the nature of the industry. I actually read a legal paper on this about fashion IP (intellectual property) as a very low IP regime... meaning that without the cannibalization and bastardization of legit designs to the trickle-down masses there cannot be any innovation for new designs (as horrendous as some of them may be). It's just create, forget, create again...
* I'm sure you realize most of this... just my 2 cents
