They're not wrapped really, they just lace in the back.
It's a huge ***** to get them on and off. I almost have to unlace them halfway.
The 2011 version has a zipper on the back, which would be soooo much easier, but for whatever reason, they just don't look as good to me overall :/

cross-posting from sufu shoe collection threak. Shoe collection has changed a bit since I sold some shoes to aeglus and stopped wearing some older ones. This is what I've been wearing lately: Top to bottom, L to R: Jil Sander X Church's wholecuts, Raf Asics, Red Wing 875 no-name German Army hi's I bought from jmatsu, god of sneakers, Repetto Zizi homme, Common Projects x3 Giuliano Fujiwara, MMM x3, BBBF x Peal & Co

Those are all really nice. Are the last pair of common projects to the right achilles highs? And how do you like Repetto shoes?

Indeed they are, all white, same as the lows. I liked the idea and the design of the highs but don't wear them as much. Actually, I rarely wear my CP's, I don't really like that sole for comfort or the shape of ot, really. It's interesting to look at but I prefer the MMM gum sole with the bit of taper to it and the bounciness, since I have days where I have to walk all day. The Repettos are cool looking too, but you gotta fit them fairly snug or they slip off your feet. Also, they tend to make your feet look very small, so if you have small feet, you may want to skip them as it'll make your feet look freakishly small, so they look a little odd on me IMO. Also, very, very uncomfortable for walking.

dont know if the mids are easier to get on and off, but in my experience i just had to find the right formula before things got easy. now its really easy to slip on and off--dont even have to tie them. the whites are very nice. good stuff melon.

drew those fujiwara's are really nice.

Don't understand the Raf Asics. They look like new balance or some technical running shoe, are the very different in person or something.

Can someone please point me in the direction of an all black shoe (meaning black midsole as well)? Doesn't have to be super high end either...

Common Projects makes the achilles and did/does make the cap toe in all black as well

Yeah I don't like boots much, my legs are too short for a good boot tuck with any boots that look good, and I grew up in Australia where I never wore shoes all year round for half my life, so I consider CP's kinda heavy for my feet and get uncomfortable in them after awhile, boots need like a week or two or training for me. (0)

The silhouette is a bit too skinny for my liking (that said, Dunks etc are too bulky). And also the leather is too supple. I want some all black shoes to beat on for the winter.
