The sole is stitched. I don't have much to compare my cp's too(visvim, chucks, vans, etc) but so far they've outlasted everything else. Been wearing them solidly for a year with not a single tear or rip. If they were more comfortable, they'd pretty much be my perfect shoe

The crazy people on SZ go to their cobblers and get the soles replaced

(as I understand it, the cobbler can just grind down the sole and then glue/stitch on a new one)

I find cp's comfy, trick is to size up one I think :p or else they're too narrow.

Quality is outstanding, I bought a super beat up pair from someone (I think he said they were a year or two old) about a year ago, beat them up myself for a year... Wearing in snow, rain, drunken nights, etc. Polished them off once the weather cleared up, and they look absolutely great.

edit: I'd probably cobble rick trainers if I had some and they were too beat lol

I have 5 common projects and they seem to wear nicely and seem to be easier to keep clean. They are stitched, but I heard the Evisu ones are cemented. None of them have worn out, but then again I have many differen brand of shoes, but common projects are my favorite.

Is the sole on the CPs really replaceable? I think it would look weird re-soled.

Also, with all the sneaker questions and the sneaker "debate" in WAYWT thread, can't someone just start an Official Sneaker Thread or something?

My Common Projects are probably the most comfortable shoes I own. I have a few sneakers that retail for a couple hundred dollars more, and CP seems to be the same or better, quality wise (comfort, leather, durability, etc). Think what you want about the looks of them, but quality is quite good.

I've owned my CP high tops since the beginning of the school year (September-ish?) and I ******* trashed them, but they're still holding up pretty well. If I kept wearing them everyday like I was they'd probably not hold together in the long run (but I really wear my clothes hard so YMMV) but if I keep them in a steady rotation I see them lasting for a long time.

I don't own any CPs yet.. but I have a pretty substantial collection of Visvims. I have a pair of super comfortable foley-gy's as my beaters and they're holding up really well.. I'm a fan of vibram soles though. Some people can't stand them.
