One thing AVS taught me is that 120 hz is great for 24 hz Blu rays (and DVDs?). With 120 hz you'd get a straight 5:1 pulldown rather than a 3:2. (24*5 = 120).
The interpolation is a mixed bag. My 240 hz does great on sports, but fails miserably on 1080i broadcast channels.
