climb dance - unbelievable, ari vatanen howling up pikes peak in a peugeot 405 T16, i guess like a group b rally car only with bigger balls. the bit when the sun hits through the windscreen and he calmly takes his hand off the 'wheel to shade his eyes makes my nuts go tight. - http://www.ifilm.com/ifilmdetail/2674471?htv=12

hardly race movies, but well loved nonetheless

Vanishing Point — while not truly a "racing" movie — is one of the best ever. Nice call Chrysalid. And Grand Prix is tough to beat.

GRAND PRIX, with James Garner, Yves Montand, Eva Marie Saint, Jessica Walter and Brian Bedford. By far. Soap opera of the international set, with 'new,' split screen imaging, sen-surround sound, lots of tense racing footage, chic Monte Carlo sets, smart costumes, and a tragic finale. First rate, trash. Brand new DVD version, now available. Another one I love, is VIVA LAS VEGAS . . .

Le Mans... The best racing movie ever made, IMO.

Grand prix has that 60s charm.

Also, A Man and a Woman. [Why am I starting to write like LabelKing?]

But Talladega Nights rocked. It has something for everyone, even Lumbergh from Office Space.
