Just saw this movie today. Really great. Funny. Unexpected twists and turns. Not a subject I am particularly familiar with, but a really interesting story. If it's in your city you should really give this a chance. Excellent.

Banksy's shtick is beginning to be tiresome.

I like some of his ideas and I own his book, but its just a matter of time before he's selling t-shirts and on USA network like shepherd fairey.

Yeah...that's not really what the movie is about though.

I liked it. It made some interesting comments on the art world.

saw it in a theatre about 2 months ago, and yes, it is very good. it's not really about banksy, so don't avoid it just because you don't like him.

some of the film takes place just up the street from my apartment and around the corner from the where i saw the film. (the kinko's scenes)

I contend to this day that he wouldn't be as famous if his name was Banski, just as the Rolling Stones wouldn't have been as popular if the leader singer was named Dick Jagger.

Reminiscent of F for Fake. Incredibly impressed with this movie and you should probably check it out, regardless of your thoughts on Banksy.

this movie/mockumentary/docu?mentary is available on hulu right now for free! http://www.hulu.com/watch/206459/exi...-the-gift-shop edit: I just watched it. hmmm.... it kind of mirrors how people like Kim kardashian/paris hilton become famous and rich by circumstance. circumstance being making revealing films featuring themselves (like a sextape or an introspective honest film about themselves) then whoring to the masses. Shepard Fairey and Banksy seem to know that the joke is on everyone, artists included.
